Lion's Head, Cape Town

Lion’s Head is a popular “must-do” hike in the Mother City and offers its visitors the most magical experience with uninterrupted mountain, city and ocean views across the Atlantic and the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range.

How long does it take to walk up Lion's Head?
The mountain peaks at 669 metres above sea level and the hike itself should take you about an hour and a half to the summit. Once making it past some of the trickier areas like the chain and ladders, be prepared to gasp at the beauty that is Cape Town.

Positioned between Table Mountain and Signal hill, Lion’s Head proves to be a popular spot to take that iconic Lion’s Head photograph and for the locals and tourists to enjoy a picnic and well deserved view after the steep hike to the top.

While all of our Cape Town villas and apartments are just a short drive away, here is a small selection of properties close by, or offering some particularly impressive views of the infamous mountain we call Lion’s Head
