Game Parks and Nature Reserves near Cape Town
For those wanting to combine their Cape Portfolios villa holiday by the sea in Cape Town with the unparalleled thrill and natural beauty of an African bush safari experience, we can recommend a choice of private Game Reserves within just a few hours drive of the City, all of which boast the opportunity to view the "Big Five" and many other wildlife species in spectacular scenery. Options range from day trips in smaller, simpler game reserves less than two hours from the City that work best with younger children, to larger, more exclusive game parks 3-4 hours away with luxurious lodges that are well worth staying at for a night or two to take in the remote surroundings and more extensive game viewing opportunities. There are also a couple of excellent private Nature Reserves we recommend, also for a short break of a few nights, that offer a fascinating introduction to the incredible indigenous flora, fauna, native wildlife and marine life of our spectacular Western Cape region. Some introductory information follows below on some of our favourite local Game Parks and Nature Reserves, but you are also welcome to contact our Guest Relations Manager, Chuma Gwenxa who will be pleased to help you book the perfect local safari trip during your stay with Cape Portfolios!
