Candice van Niekerk - Operations Manager
Candice is Cape Portfolios' Operations Manager with responsibility for overseeing our business operations and helping us as we constantly look to improve our guest experience and service to our owners. Candice joined Cape Portfolios in 2008 initially working for many years in our Reservations team before stepping up to this more senior management role.
Chuma Gwenxa - Guest Relations Manager
Chuma joined us in 2009 initially as our receptionist from a 5 star hotel background but her energy and enthusiasm has seen her take on new challenges in our business. As Guest Relations Manager she is now responsible for helping guests book tours and villa services as well as liaising with them to ensure all runs smoothly during their stay. Chuma loves getting to know Cape Town even better through her job promoting tourism.
Naeema Jacobs - Reservations Manager
Our reservations consultant Naeema grew up in Cape Town always wanting to work in tourism so she could encourage others to visit her home town and the beautiful Western Cape region that she loves so much. She spends much of her spare time exploring new attractions in and around the City, and she has become a big fan of the popular local sport of drag racing, though she also loves relaxing weekends by the sea in tranquil Langebaan just an hour's drive up the scenic West Coast.
Charlene van Zyl - Reservations Manager
Charlene joined us with many years experience in the tourism and villa rentals industry, including reservations and property management roles. She grew up in the small Winelands town of Robertson about 2 hours inland but she loves living close to the sea in Cape Town with its fabulous beaches, restaurants and easy going, outdoors lifestyle. Not that its all about chilling in her spare time, as Charlene is also studying hard for her Post Grad Diploma in Marketing & Management!
Samantha Muller - Property Manager
Samantha has been with us since 2012 and is one of our hard working Property Managers who oversee our managed villa portfolio including supervising our housekeeping team and the many contractors we work with to keep our properties in great shape! Samantha's work experience in 5 star hotels and her International Hotel School Diploma make her well qualified for her role. Outside work her interests include cooking, SA wines and travel.
Terence Rice - Property Manager
Terence joined us as a Property Manager in 2013 with valuable experience as Concierge at the famous Oyster Box hotel in Umhlanga Rocks near Durban, and before that in various hotels and restaurants including in the UK. He has a degree in Hospitality Management and is a qualified cocktail barman, which is very handy at our team parties! Growing up in Natal, Terence has a love of the great outdoors, he enjoys trail running and has travelled widely in Africa.
Cailin Wilmore - Property Manager
Cailin joined Cape Portfolios in 2014 on an internship on her tourism management diploma course at CPUT, when her passion for the industry, and hard working, service minded approach shone through. She later returned on a full time basis as a Property Manager, with responsibility for managing our team of 18 housekeepers and maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and presentation in our properties. Cailin has always lived in Cape Town, which she loves, with visits to the winelands and West Coast a firm favourite at weekends.
Lubi Ndou - Assistant Property Manager
Lubi grew up in Pretoria and moved to Cape Town after completing his studies. He is a key member of our management team, helping to look after our properties and keeping a close eye on inventories and many other important details. He also speaks more languages than the rest of our team put together (6 of the 11 South African languages)! When not at work Lubi loves getting to know his new home city and divides his sporting allegiances between Manchester City and Mamelodi Sundowns FCs.
Pia Paulson - Office Manager
Pia joined our team in 2007 and plays a key role efficiently overseeing the management of our busy office. Pia is originally from Sweden and also lived in New York before she moved to Cape Town. In her spare time she enjoys socializing, photography and exploring Cape Town on foot and she still loves to travel when she can both to New York and Sweden.
Ann Symmonds - Accountant
Ann has been with us since 2008 and she has always kept an air of unflappable calm and good humour about her whilst working away quietly and efficiently in our busy office preparing the accounts for Cape Portfolios and our many owners. In her spare time Ann is a keen amateur photographer and even her beloved dogs have been known to appear as models for her photo shoots!
Joy Arries - Receptionist and Administrator
Joy has the challenging task of managing our busy reception area as well as ensuring things run smoothly with the day to day administration of our property management and rentals business. She grew up in Ocean View on the Cape Peninsula and as a beach lover she still rates nearby Long Beach in Kommetjie as the best. Although further afield the pretty town of Knysna on the Garden Route would be Joy's number one holiday choice in the Western Cape.
